Dear Ram, It is true that hardly a minuscule minority has any idea of what Aadhaar is all about.

The Govt and the UIDAI have deliberately kept it this way. Both have been dishonest about their real intentions.

Media and middle class have been taken in by the personality of the UIDAI chairperson. Business finds it attractive. You would always find ET place news about UID in the "Emerging business & IT" page. Politicians have different ideas, mostly born out of ignorance.

The question here, as in many other issues, is what does civil society do to overcome public apathy?
I think our campaigns are addressing this in some small way. We need to do a lot more.
