My understanding of the apprehensions of alumni like Ram are not because of the UID program per se but they are because of the possible misuses of the stored information on individuals by the politicians for their political reasons and divide and rule policies.

There are no dearth of mechanisms in this country but their implementation has always been the issue.

UID does seem to be the answer of various problems of this country provided it is implemented in letter and spirit of the concepts/reasons this project has been designed/planned for.

Crooked politicians are and will remain the bane for this country and Ram’s apprehensions does hold water to the extent of the possible misuses by the politicians of this beneficial program.
